OUR COLLECTIVE

The She-Collective is a creative safe space for women, female identifying, and non-binary artists that endeavors to connect and aid actors, writers, producers, directors, and creators from under-represented and diverse backgrounds. We are creating an alternative space for women to support and empower each other by encouraging the creation of our own opportunities, fostering our community, and elevating our standards. Storytelling empowers lives. Women have stories to tell.

WHO WE ARE

Erica Jensen (CSA) - Founder/Instructor: Erica officially became a Black business owner when Calleri Casting was formed. As one third of the Artios-Award winning team of Calleri Jensen Davis she has worked steadily in film, television and theater for over 20 years.

 

Erica’s career began with an internship in the casting office at Playwrights Horizons, which is where she met James Calleri and discovered a love for casting. Her internship led to a position as the Talent Coordinator on Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show during its second season. She returned to work with James when he was hired to cast the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith. Shortly after, Calleri Casting was officially formed and has been her professional home ever since.

In addition to her work in casting, Erica is a faculty member at The New School where she teaches Acting As A Business and Industry Showcase. She is also a faculty member at Syracuse University's Tepper Semester where she teaches On-Camera Audition Technique. And he is the Industry Mentor for the graduate students at Brown/Trinity Rep. 

Originally from Tampa, FL. Erica moved to New York City after graduate school in 2000. She currently resides in Brooklyn where she is raising her daughter. She enjoys spending time with her dog, running marathons, all kinds of self-care, and lots of eating. 

Erica was named American Theater magazine's Top Theater Workers you should know in 2017.

Erica holds an MFA in Acting from Illinois State University. She is a proud member of the Casting Society of America.

She has taught on-camera at TVI, One on One, Capes Coaching, The Actors Center in London, and Actors Connection.

Annie McNamara - Guest Artist/Instructor: Annie McNamara has been an actor in NYC for 20 years. She has worked on over 100 New Plays. Most recently, Annie originated the role of Alana in Jeremy O. Harris’

SLAVE PLAY on Broadway, receiving a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play. Selected Theater Credits: SLAVE PLAY (New York Theater Workshop); IOWA (Playwrights Horizons, Lortel nomination for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical); WE’RE GONNA BE OKAY (Humana Festival of New American Plays/Actors Theatre of Louisville); MAP OF VIRTUE (13P); THAT PRETTY PRETTY (Rattlestick Playwrights Theater); RAPTURE, BLISTER, BURN (Huntington Theatre Company) and the original Lenora in Jenny Schwartz’s GOD’S EAR. As a member of Elevator Repair Service since 2008, Annie has been a creator, performer and educator with the ensemble. She’s toured nationally & internationally in GATZ, EVERYONE’S FINE WITH VIRGINIA WOOLF and THE SOUND AND THE FURY.Annie is also a Clubbed Thumb affiliated artist. Work with that company includes THE WORLD MY MAMA RAISED; TOMB OF KING TOT; 41-ERFUL; LAY ME DOWN, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and U.S. DRAG. On screen, you can see her in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine, TV’s Orange is the New Black, The Knick, Mozart in the Jungle and, recently, The Good Fight. Upcoming: Severance, produced & directed by Ben Stiller. Annie studied Meisner with Maggie Flanigan at The William Esper Studio. She has a Masters in English Literature from Brown University.

Tessa Auberjonois - Guest Artist/Instructor: Tessa has played numerous leading roles at South Coast Repertory, The Shakespeare Theatre of Washington D.C., Utah Shakespeare Festival, Yale Rep, Hartford Stage, Westport Playhouse, Wilma Theatre, the Kirk Douglas Theatre, and performed Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel, the Player’s Theatre, The Acorn, and Rattlestick. She is a member of Antaeus Theatre Company, and participates regularly in development of new plays for South Coast Repertory’s NewSCRipts series, Pacific Playwrights Festival, the Public Theatre, New Dramatists, Utah Shakespeare Festival’s NAPP, Perry Mansfield’s New Play Festival, and with developing playwrights and screenwriters in Los Angeles.   Her TV work includes How I Met Your Father, On the Verge, Lucifer, Modern Family, The Affair, Shameless, I’m Dying Up Here, Law and Order, Law & Order SVU, ER, Numbers, Boston Legal, Guiding Light, Jonny Zero, Hot in Cleveland, upcoming The Summer People, and in the feature films Birth and I’m Not Rappaport, as well as several short films and music videos, and ongoing and extensive Voice Acting in commercials, videogames, audiobooks, and animation. Awards and fellowships include the 2020 Ovation Award for Best Lead Actress in a play for Eight Nights, the 2018 Lunt-Fontanne Award, Best Actress in a play 2017 from the OC Weekly, Nominated for Best Female Guest Star for a Television Voiced Performance by a Woman 2018 from Behind the Voice Actors, the 2012 Sermoonjoy Fund Fellowship, a Fox Foundation Fellowship, and the Oliver Thorndike award for excellence in acting upon graduation from Yale Drama.  She trained at Yale, LAMDA, Sarah Lawrence College, and the School of American Ballet. When not acting, she is mostly teaching and coaching in Los Angeles, seeking out her next adventure in the wilderness with her two sons, or making something out of string.  She is currently on faculty at AMDA, Berg Studios, and LA City College, has taught at Sag-Aftra Foundation's VO Lab, IDSA LA, Cal-Arts, California High School of the Arts, NYFA, Box Union, and Garden of Sound. 

ERICA A HART, CSA - Guest Artist/Instructor: Erica was born and raised in Washington, DC (the actual 202...not 301 or 703.) She graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied film and television. She has been casting for over a decade and has loved every minute of it. She started off in network and studio casting moving her way up to Casting Coordinator in the New York Office of ABC Primetime Casting. Erica has appeared in The Hollywood Reporter as a featured rising artist and has cast films that have screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, SXSW, Outfest, Cinequest, and the Cannes Film Festival. THE SURROGATE (a film she cast as well as associate produced) was in INDIEWIRE's Best Movies Eligible for a 2021 Oscar, was a VARIETY CRITICS PICK, and earned Erica her first Artios nomination and win in 2021. She has cast commercials for high-end brands such as Maybelline, Gillette, Hasbro, and Delta, to name a few, and cast H.E.R's music video for FIGHT FOR YOU which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Her television/streaming Casting Director credits include both seasons of THAT DAMN MICHAEL CHE (HBOMAX), JODIE produced by Tracee Ellis Ross and Grace Edwards, BLACK DON'T CRACK (pilot for ABC), BUST DOWN (PEACOCK) and THE GIRLS ON THE BUS (HBOMAX). In 2021 she made her Broadway debut casting two Broadway plays: CHICKEN & BISCUITS and PASS OVER. In 2022, she co cast the Broadway revival of DEATH OF A SALESMAN and will cast the MTC Broadway production of JAJA'S AFRICAN HAIR BRAIDING. She has cast theatrical productions for THE NATIONAL BLACK THEATRE and THE DRAMA LEAGUE. Erica was the Casting Associate for shows like RAY DONOVAN (SHOWTIME), THE BOLD TYPE (FREEFORM), DEFENDING JACOB (APPLE+), and GODFATHER OF HARLEM (EPIX). She is on the Board of Governors for Casting Society (CSA) and a member of the Television Academy. She also teaches TV auditioning techniques at colleges and universities around the country including Harvard University and NYU's Grad Acting Program. Outside of casting, she has received grants and awards from the Puffin Foundation, New York Television Festival and The Digital Bolex, and has developed series for BET and WeTV.
