Create characters outlandish on the page with humanity for the stage! This scene study class is a deep dive into the “performance” and “study” of new plays: activating & analyzing challenging texts. Each week will expand every inch of our artist-selves: our crafting imaginations, acting muscles and skills as script detectives. As a 20-year veteran of the world of New Plays, I have a full toolbox to share. But I’m also deeply curious…. What will we discover together? Important Notes for Participants: We’ll all read all the plays. 2 per week. There will be no parameters on casting. This will be a space to explore characters, regardless of gender, race or age. Journaling is expected.
